VHC Touch, designed for mobile tablet devices, guides Technicians and Service Advisors through the Vehicle Health Check (VHC) process using touch screen technology. We're delighted to share that our customers have now performed over three million Vehicle Health Checks using our VHC Touch mobile app - a wonderful achievement!
David Mckay, Senior Product Manager for Service, said "the fact that three million VHC’s have been performed by our customers is quite a landmark! As we move into the second half of the financial year we're not standing still, incorporating customer feedback into the existing functionality and creating new applications. I would like to thank everybody involved with the creation of the applications, especially David Davies and Rob Caldecott for their hard work on the VHC touch and mobile products. With the growth on an exponential curve we can look forward to the four millionth VHC well before the end of next year.”
VHC Touch was originally created as a Mobile solution to allow the recording of a Vehicle Health Check, in a workshop environment, that could then be updated with the repairs in real time. The legacy product was difficult to use and relied on a Kclient connection which for mobile was outdated and very unreliable. VHC Touch used pioneering new technology to connect the web server to the backend Dealer Management System - coupled with a fresh new intuitive User Interface and reliable web-app connection, the VHC Touch product was launched in March 2013.
As well as being available with Autoline Rev 8 and Autoline Drive, the VHC Touch application is also integrated with local DMS systems such as Automaster. The application can be served using a variety of web browsers including Google Chrome and Safari meaning that the device choice is not limited. Workshops will often provide 7 or 10 inch tablets to their technicians which is perfect for operating the app and the entire workflow can be completed on the tablet, including presenting a quote to customers for their authorisation.
